Admission Information for International Students in IOE

Institute of Engineering(IOE) which is considered one of the top ranked engineering institution in South Asia has provision of admission for International students in the constituent and affiliated engineering colleges including Pulchowk Engineering College under full pay scheme. 1/12th of the total seats in full pay admission is secured for students from abroad nations and 3 categories are defined for entry in the Tribhuvan University(TU) affiliated engineering colleges in Nepal. The information regarding arrival instructions, visa procedure and legal issues and immigration issues of Nepal can be obtained from official website of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

1. Students from abroad but studying on institutions in Nepal: The students in this category needs to appear in IOE entrance exam as regular applicants following the syllabus of IOE Entrance Exam.
2. Students from SAARC nations: Interested students from SAARC nations should pass the entrance test as prescribed by the IOE Entrance Board.
3. For rest of International students: They don’t have to appear or pass the entrance exam but need to get approval from the exam board which may be based on various evaluation criteria.

IOE Entrance for Foreign Students

Nepalese and foreign candidates will have to appear in the same entrance examination. All questions in the entrance examination will be multiple-choice type with four options and one correct answer for each question. Total number of questions will be one hundred and the duration of the examination will be two hours. There is negative marking system for wrong answers. For 10 wrong answers mark for one question will be deducted.

In order to submit the online application, a scanned copy of the bank voucher filled up and endorsed by the bank must be uploaded on the application form. The application fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances. Foreign candidates must fill in the ‘Foreign Category’ online application form. It is not necessary for foreign applicants to upload the bank voucher in the application form. However a copy of the original bank voucher must be submitted at the time of collecting of the admission card. Admission card will be issued only after proper verification of the candidates documents. Foreign candidates with the prerequisite certificates from countries other than Nepal are requested to contact the Entrance Examination Board and confirm the Entrance Examination date and time.

Online submission of the application forms can be done from specified date (For academic year 2016, its 21st July 2016 to 4th August 2016). Online application forms are available at the IOE website:entrance.ioe.edu.np. Admission copies in hard copies and forms sent by mail, courier or by any other method will not be accepted. Application forms once uploaded online cannot be corrected or withdrawn. Candidates are therefore, requested to fill the form carefully.

Entrance Application Fee

All candidates must deposit a sum of NRs 2,000 as application fee in specified Bank in the account name IOE Entrance Examination Board (in specified account number), the forms for which is provided by the bank in its specially prepared Voucher for IOE Entrance Examination Board.

Entrance Exam Result for International Students

The result of IOE Entrance Exam will be published few days after completion of entrance exam of all shifts. It will be available on IOE Entrance Result 2016 page.

Admission for Foreign Students

The foreign students have to pay the admission charge as stated on IOE fee structure after passing any of above criteria for entrance. They can get admission in any of the streams of Bachelor’s in Engineering and Architecture. The entrance form can be obtained from examination control division website: exam.ioe.edu.np. Any streams of Bachelor’s in Engineering has Four Year (8 semester) and B.Arch has Five Year (10 semesters) and follow similar evaluation & grading criteria after finishing(passing) all of the courses.
